Motivation for the New Year
The start of the new year is one of my favorite times of the year. You are in a hazy fog of days off from the holidays and the excitement of what’s to come is in front of you. A whole fresh new year to make amazing memories and have adventures.
I don’t normally set a specific resolution; instead, I look at the past and think about what I want to change for the future. I like to set a specific word goal for the month (you can read about that HERE).
This year, I’m mixing it up a little bit. In my random Amazon shopping I came across an Un-Inspirational Daily Calendar. It’s hilarious, but not always motivating. (of course I bought it. Lol) To counter that, I signed myself up for a daily motivational quote. Each morning I have an inspirational or motivational quote delivered to my email. Today’s was:
"Giving thanks for abundance is greater than abundance itself." - Rumi
How beautiful is that? What a perfect reminder to give thanks for the things that we have and the abundance of them.
Also, in my random Amazon shopping I found a planner that you fill out daily. Each day there is a spot for what you are grateful for, what you are excited about, what your focus is, priorities for the day, a schedule. At the bottom of the page, there is a spot for end of day review- and you put in notes about your WINS from the day, and how you will improve tomorrow. It was exactly what I needed to keep myself grounded, focused and motivated to be the best version of myself possible.
How is your New Year going? What motivates you to be better than you were yesterday?
Here’s to the best year ever!!
